The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams have each been putting together outstanding seasons, and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association has taken notice. The women have entered the West Region rankings at No. 17, while the men are No. 19 in the region.
The 'Roo women are 7-6 this season, including a huge 5-4 victory over the University of Texas-Dallas (currently ranked No. 19 in the region). This week's rankings mark the first time since 2011 that the Austin College women's team has been regionally ranked.
The 'Roo men are currently 9-3 this year, including a decisive 7-2 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor, a team ranked No. 20 in the region. The 'Roo men are off to one of the best starts in recent history for Austin College tennis, and the No. 19 regional ranking marks the first time since becoming an NCAA varsity program that Austin College's men's tennis team has been regionally ranked.
