SHERMAN, Texas - Due to heavy storms passing through the Sherman area on Friday evening, tonight's baseball game against Southwestern University will not be played. More changes will follow for this weekend's 3-game series as the 'Roos and Pirates attempt to complete their Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup.
With standing water on Baker Field, the teams will play no earlier than 4:00 p.m. in order to prepare the playing surface. If the 'Roos and Pirates are able to begin that game as scheduled, a second game may be played immediately following. However, if field conditions allow for only one game to be played on Saturday, the two teams will then attempt to play a doubleheader on Sunday with the start time to be determined.
Austin College is currently No. 4 in the SCAC standings at 4-5, while Southwestern is No. 5 at 5-7, with both teams jockeying for the fourth and final spot in this year's SCAC Championship Tournament.
