SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's swimming and diving team earned a 126-74 victory over Simpson College on Thursday night in the team's warmup for Saturday's Austin College Invite.
The 'Roos got several strong performances, including a first place finish by the team of Chris Brown, Tyler Brown, Collin Vu, and Nic Cappellini in the 200 medley relay. The quartet came in with a time of 1:43.13 in the event. Tyler Brown took first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:53.18, and Vu touched first in the 50 free with a time of 22.39, just ahead of teammate Colton Baker, who came in with a time of 23.54.
Vu added another first place finish in the 100 butterfly, touching with a time of 58.13, and Cappellini was first in the 100 freestyle with a finishing time of 52.76. Chris Brown also collected an individual first place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.99, and Tyler Brown came in with a time of 1:04.81 to claim first in the 100 breaststroke.
Baker scored first place points in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with 130.95 and 123.60 points, respectively.
