LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College women's basketball player Bryce Frank has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office has announced. This is the second time this season Frank has earned this award.
Frank, a sophomore forward from Granbury, had a huge weekend as Austin College went 1-1 with a narrow loss to No. 12-ranked Trinity and a big win over Schreiner. Frank averaged 16.0 points and 18.0 rebounds while shooting better than 54% from the field in the two games, recording a double-double in each contest.
Against Trinity, Frank scored 14 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, and followed up that performance with 18 points and 20 rebounds. That marked a career-high for rebounds for Frank, and the first time an Austin College player reached that number since Katy Williams in 2010. Frank has now had seven consecutive double-doubles and leads the SCAC in rebounding, in addition to being fifth in the league in scoring and fifth in field goal percentage.
