AC Athletics Update 4/3/2019

A little over one month to go, #RooNation.  Both for our Spring Sports Seasons and our Academic Calendar.  As we roll into April, the stakes get “that much” higher as every competition changes the conference standings, rankings, and post-season qualification.  Everyone is on the road this weekend, so we won’t have any home games of which to inform you.  But the SCAC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships in Sherman, TX get closer every day.  So clear your schedules for the 19th-21st of April in advance.

Men’s & Women’s Distance Track wrapped up a great meet last weekend and Women’s Water Polo rolled to their first winning streak of the season. All this and more in the first April edition of the AC Athletics Update.

AC performed well last weekend and will take this weekend off before traveling to Texas A&M-Commerce on April 13th.

Women’s Water Polo

Women’s Water Polo went on a tear this past weekend in St. Paul, Minnesota.  The Kangaroos avenged an earlier loss to #10 Monmouth 14-9 in their first victory of the weekend, squeaked out an 8-7 victory over Carthage, then rolled to an 8-4 win over Wittenberg for their first winning streak of the season.

Austin College will train this weekend before heading to New London, Connecticut for the CWPA Championships starting Friday, April 12th.

Three teams in action this weekend, three teams on the road this weekend, with Tennis in Georgetown, Baseball in San Antonio, and Softball in Irving.

Championships are fast approaching, and the 2019 SCAC Men’s & Women’s Tennis Championships will be in Sherman, TX from the 19th-21st.  Book that weekend as “busy” on your calendars so all of #RooNation can come cheer on our Regionally Ranked Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams in their only true home contests on campus.
