Head Coach Ryan Dodd enters for his 5th season as the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach for Austin College in 2018-19.

Dodd earned his second consecutive "Coach of the Year" designation for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis, guiding the Kangaroo Women to a 13-8 record, a repeat 3rd place finish in the Conference Tournament, a program-best #12 West-Region Ranking, three Top-25 West Region Singles Players for a Austin College first, and a Women's Doubles Team ranked in the Top-13 in the West.  4 Women's Tennis players earned SCAC All-Conference Team honors, a total of 13 in Dodd's four seasons at the helm, with 5 earning 1st-Team recognition.

The AC Men in 2017-18 went 11-11 (4-2 SCAC) playing a tough national schedule, and repeating as the #3 Team in the Conference Tournament.  Men's Tennis reclaimed their position as the #17 West Region Team in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rankings, and earned a #14 Regional Doubles Ranking for the first time in program history.  Dodd coached four Kangaroo Men to All-Conference Honors, making a total of 13 in four years, with three athletes earning 1st-Team Honors.

In the 2016-17 campaign, Coach Dodd led the Men's Tennis program to a 14-6 (6-3 SCAC) record and a 3rd-place finish in the final SCAC standings; their best finish in conference in program history.

Women's Tennis under Coach Dodd compiled an 11-10 (5-4 SCAC) record on the year, and also finished 3rd-place in the final SCAC standings for a program best.  Coach Dodd was named "SCAC co-Coach of the Year" for the team's achievements on the season.

In addition to SCAC achievements, both Kangaroo Tennis Teams earned their first year-end Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) regional rankings.  The Women's Team ended the year ranked #15 in the West, and the Men's Team finished #17 in the West.

Both teams were named ITA All-Academic Teams (3.25+ GPA) for the second consecutive year, and Women's Tennis earned the first ever "Dr. Jack Pierce Academic Excellence Award" (Top cumulative GPA of all AC Athletic Teams); their second such award in as many years.

Dodd, a 2010 graduate of DePauw University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Computer Science, earned a Masters of Education, specializing in Sport Administration from Bowling Green State University in 2013.

Before Austin College, Dodd served as the Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN.

While at Rhodes, Dodd helped lead the men's team to a No. 16-ranking in the region and a 4th-place finish in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA), while the women were ranked No. 17 in the Atlantic South and finished 5th in the SAA.

From 2012-2013, Dodd served as the co-head coach at Perrysburg High School in Perrysburg, Ohio for boys tennis and Assistant girls tennis coach, helping several athletes to sectional and district titles, including two state qualifiers.

From 2011-2013 he worked at the Perrysburg Tennis Center as a private coach and instructor.  He previously held that same position at Shadow Valley at Central Tennis Club in Sylvania, Ohio in 2010-2011 and New Albany Country Club & Tennis Center from 2008-2010. Dodd is a United States Professional Tennis Registry certified professional and has been since August 2008.

During his time as a student-athlete at DePauw, Dodd earned three letters on the Tigers men's tennis team, compiling an overall singles record of 12-5 and a doubles record of 11-5. He was a member of the 2007 DePauw team that earned a berth in the NCAA Division III National Team Tournament, and helped lead the Tigers into the national Elite Eight that year and a #6 National Ranking.
