Austin College women's basketball player Brittany Stepanksi has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office has announced.
Stepanski, a freshman forward from Humble, posted two double-doubles as the 'Roos went 2-0 over the weekend, averaging 14.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game. She hit 9-of-16 shots from the field and 10-of-13 from the free throw line, and also did not commit a single turnover in the two games.
Against Dallas on Friday, Stepanski scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and also blocked four shots. Against Colorado College on Sunday, she scored 10 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and swatted three shots to notch her second double-double of the weekend and fifth straight game scoring in double figures.
