SHERMAN, Texas - This weekend, the Austin College women's basketball team will head out on the road to compete in the 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament in Seguin, hosted by Texas Lutheran. The 'Roos enter the postseason as the No. 2-seed after posting a 13-3 mark in conference play.
First round action gets underway on Friday with Southwestern, the No. 4-seed, taking on No. 5-seed Colorado College at noon. The winner of that game goes on to play No. 1-seed Trinity at noon on Saturday. No. 3-seed Texas Lutheran takes on No. 6-seed Schreiner on Friday at 2:00 p.m., and the winner of that matchup will be Austin College's opponent at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the second semifinal.
The 'Roos posted 2-0 records against both Texas Lutheran and Schreiner, topping the Bulldogs 77-61 at home before coming away with a 59-52 overtime victory in Seguin. The 'Roos defeated Schreiner 75-53 in Hughey Gym before coasting to a 70-41 victory in Kerrville.
