Sophie Garriga, Swimming

Sophie Garriga, a freshman swimmer from San Antonio, had a big week for Austin College at the 2017 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championship Meet. Garriga broke multiple program records throughout the course of the meet.

Garriga first broke the program's 400 individual medley record, coming in with a time of 4:51.20 during prelims. She followed that up with a record-setting swim in the 200 butterfly. Garriga finished with a time of 2:18.02 in prelims to set the new Austin College record, before finishing seventh overall in the finals for the event, with a time of 2:21.71.
