'Roo Student-Athletes Visit Sory Elementary Honors Celebration
Members of the Austin College athletics family visited the students at Henry Sory Elementary in Sherman on Thursday morning to help present honors and inspire the young students to pursue their dreams.

Members of the Kangaroo football, volleyball, swimming and diving, tennis, soccer, and baseball teams helped present awards at the Sory Elementary Honors Celebration to kindergarten and first grade students. The young award winners were being recognized for their successes in math and reading as well as for being gracious, courteous, and respectful.
Volleyball players Madi McVay, Katie Ingle, and Madison Lee, football players Cooper Woodyard, Branden Hunt, Ben Bouchez, Lloyd Hunter, Noah Raney, Tate Milroy, Jarrod Tetley, and Ryan Knesek, baseball player Austin Dudley, men's tennis player Kenneth Hardy, men's swimmer Deric McCurry, men's soccer player Michael Moran, as well as cheerleader Rachel Thompson and Katy 'Roo herself made the trip along with head football coach Loren Dawson and graduate assistant coach Brett Vaughn.
Prior to the Honors Celebration, each of the 'Roos addressed the young students with words of wisdom how to succeed in the classroom, reminding them to respect their teachers and always follow their dreams. Hardy relayed the tennis program's motto, "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."
