This Week in AC Athletics, 4/11 - 4/17

Softball - Home vs. Centenary, Friday, 4/15 @ 5 & 7, Saturday, 4/16 @ 1 & 3; Tennis - Home vs. TLU (Senior Day); Saturday, 4/16 @ 1

We are edging closer to the end of our Spring Sports Seasons, #RooNation.  Softball and Tennis end their regular seasons at home this weekend while Baseball finishes next Saturday and Sunday.

The threat of impending rain could not come at a worse time since Senior Day for Men's and Women's Tennis is this Saturday, April 16th in a big match against Texas Lutheran.  Keep your fingers crossed for beautiful weather so our Student-Athletes can get at least one more opportunity to compete.

But before I start doing my rain dance, let's recap the last week's results and preview what hopes to be a big week for AC Athletics in your Athletic Department Update!

 

Baseball

 

Baseball split two games with Dallas Christian after dropping a mid-week result to Texas Wesleyan this past week.  On Tuesday, the 'Roos fell close in a barn-burner against Rust College before defeating the Bearcats 12-2 in the afternoon game.

This week, the Kangaroos are on the road to Schreiner University finish their last road trip strong going into next year.  Then next weekend, they close their regular-season out in a 3-game home stand vs. Trinity.

Make sure you follow all the action this week while you are studying in the library on your cellphone, tablet, or laptop by going to ACRoos.com and watching the live feed of the games against the Mountaineers.

Softball 

            Softball dropped all 4 of their games at Trinity this weekend but play Centenary at home this weekend.

The games were moved up to Friday and Saturday due to the threat of inclement weather, so make sure that before you go to Old Settlers Field to watch our Kangaroos you check the athletics website for all updates pertinent to the start time.

Men's and Women's Tennis

 

            This is the big one, #RooNation.  Men's & Women's Tennis is hoping for nice weather because we have Texas Lutheran coming to Sherman with major implications for the SCAC Conference Tournament preceding this matchup.

            The match with the Bulldogs will not be big just because of the post-season narrative or because of the competitiveness of both teams this season, but also because of the fact that it's SENIOR DAY.  The last home match of the regular season this year should be a special one.

            We will have a 5 minute ceremony for all four of our Seniors prior to the start of the match at 12:55, so please come out and support your Austin College Senior Tennis Players one more time as you cheer the 'Roos on to victory against TLU.

 

 

            Baseball is the only team on the road this weekend.  That means that Softball and Tennis will play at home against Centenary and TLU.
