Austin College SAAC Sets Change for the Better Fundraiser for January 26-28

SHERMAN, Texas - For the third year in a row, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the Student-Athlete Advisory Councils at member schools will be running the "Change for the Better" fundraising challenge, with proceeds going to various charities through each institution. Austin College will hold its "Change for the Better" weekend from January 26-28.

Approved by the SCAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2015, the "Change for the Better" contest allows each member institution to collect as much change as possible from fans, parents and students in support of a chosen charity over the course of one weekend during the conference basketball season. Last year, member schools of the SCAC raised nearly $2,000 between their fundraising efforts.

The 'Roos host Schreiner University on Friday, January 26 and will then take on Trinity University on Sunday, January 28. The men's basketball team plays first on both days with the women immediately following, with game times set for 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday and 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Members of the Austin College SAAC will be collecting spare change throughout all four games over the course of the weekend.

Austin College friends, family members, alumni, faculty, and staff are encouraged to come out and support the 'Roos as they wind down the regular season and help the Austin College SAAC make a Change for the Better at all four home games that weekend.
