This Week in 'Roo Athletics

The weekend has had some big changes for Austin College athletics thanks to icy weather, but the 'Roos are still scheduled to be in action this weekend in men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and men's water polo.

The 2021 SCAC Swimming & Diving Championships are underway in San Antonio, and the 'Roo women's team has gotten off to a strong start with freshman Sammi Thiele taking second place in the 200 individual medley and Austin College currently sitting in fifth place. The men's team takes to the pool later today, with both teams returning to action both Friday and Saturday.

All of the events will be streamed free of charge, with streaming information found on both the men's and women's swim schedules, as well as the Official SCAC Championship website. The women swim at 12:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the men will take to the pool at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The men's and women's basketball teams had to cancel their Friday evening games at Trinity, but Saturday's games for both teams are still on as scheduled and live stats and live streams will be available for both. Be sure to check the schedule pages for both teams to find links to stats and streams, with the women set to tip off at 1:00 p.m. and the men following at 4:00 p.m.

The 'Roo volleyball team opens up its season at home on Saturday against Trinity, with matches set for 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in Hughey Gym. Spectators will not be permitted, but live stats and free live streaming will be available, with links to both on the team's schedule page.

Finally, after hosting Air Force Academy for a pair of games last weekend, the men's water polo team is heading out to Colorado to take on the Falcons in their home pool with a game Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. CST, followed by games on Sunday against Cal Baptist at 10:00 a.m. CST and another game against Air Force at 1:00 p.m. CST. Links for stats and live streaming will be available on the team's schedule page. For the game against Cal Baptist, only live stats will be available.
