It's another busy week ahead for Austin College athletics, as baseball opens up its season while men's and women's basketball wrap up theirs. Meanwhile, 'Roo men's and women's tennis are on the road, as is women's water polo, while the softball team will be in Sherman for a pair of games.
It's another busy week ahead for Austin College athletics, as baseball opens up its season while men's and women's basketball wrap up theirs. Meanwhile, 'Roo men's and women's tennis are on the road, as is women's water polo, while the softball team will be in Sherman for a pair of games.
The action starts on Wednesday evening, as the 'Roo baseball team has its season opener in Longview against LeTourneau University with first pitch scheduled for 5:00 p.m. The 'Roos will be home later in the week, taking on Park for a single game on Sunday at noon.
The 'Roo tennis teams will only play on Friday this week, but both the men and women will still get in a pair of matches. First up is a trip to East Texas Baptist at 10:00 a.m., and from there the 'Roos will head to LeTourneau for a 6:00 p.m. match to wrap up the day.
Austin College women's water polo is headed to California this weekend, taking on Cal State-Monterey Bay in their first game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., and they'll later take on Santa Clara at 6:00 p.m. The 'Roos will then square off against Cal State-Northridge on Sunday at 12:10 p.m., and finish up their trip to the Bay Area against Cal State-East Bay at 4:50 p.m. All times listed are Central.
The Austin College men's and women's basketball teams will be home for one last game in the 2022-23 season on Saturday, as the 'Roos host the University of Dallas on Senior Day. The women will take the court first, playing the Crusaders at 2:00 p.m., with the men following at 4:00 p.m.
The 'Roo Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be conducting it's SCAC Change for the Better initiative to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Sherman at this weekend's home games, so be sure to bring your loose change and be on the lookout for SAAC representatives taking collection.
