McNulty Named Head Athletic Trainer
SHERMAN, Texas - Amber McNulty has been named the head athletic trainer for the Austin College athletics programs, athletics director David Norman has announced.
SHERMAN, Texas - Amber McNulty has been named the head athletic trainer for the Austin College athletics programs, athletics director David Norman has announced. McNulty most recently served as an athletic trainer at Birmingham-Southern College.
"We're excited to be able to have someone of Amber's caliber take on the role of head athletic trainer," said Norman. "She brings a wealth of experience to the Austin College athletics family, and her passion for and dedication to her student-athletes and their health and safety will be a tremendous asset to our department."
McNulty is a 2019 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where she earned her degree in Exercise Science before earning her master's degree in athletic training from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. McNulty completed a virtual internship with the Milwaukee Brewers, in addition to serving as a trainer for the Lakeshore Chinooks, a summer league baseball team based out of Mequon, Wisconsin. A native of Wisconsin, McNulty does bring experience in Texas, having worked at Texas State University in 2022.
"I am beyond excited to return to Texas to join the Austin College family," said McNulty. "Words cannot express how incredibly thankful I am for this opportunity. I feel truly blessed to be chosen as Austin College's head athletic trainer."
While earning her master's degree, McNulty worked with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's women's basketball, women's soccer, and men's and women's track and field teams. She worked with a number of teams at Birmingham-Southern, including the school's baseball and football programs. While there, she worked as a primary athletic trainer working alongside new Austin College football head coach Tony Joe White. Prior to her time at BSC and Texas State, she also worked as an athletic trainer at St. Norbert College, working mostly with the football and men's basketball programs. She's also worked at Champion Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama since last July.
