This Week in 'Roo Athletics

It's a quiet but big weekend for Austin College athletics, as the 'Roo men's and women's hoops teams will be the only programs in action as they continue to battle for spots in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournaments with games on Friday and Saturday.

The 'Roo basketball teams will be welcoming in Trinity University and Schreiner University over JanTerm break, beginning with a doubleheader on Friday evening against the Tigers of Trinity. The men take to the court first, with tipoff set for 6:00 p.m. against the nationally-ranked Tigers. The women follow at 8:00 p.m., taking on the defending conference champions in Hughey Gym.

Both teams will be back in action on Saturday evening as well, as the 'Roo men take to the court in Hughey Gym to battle Schreiner at 4:00 p.m., while the women follow at 6:00 p.m. Both teams remain in contention for postseason berths, and will be looking to defend their home court and bolster their standing in the SCAC.

This weekend marks the last before spring sports open up for Austin College, with both women's water polo and both tennis teams starting their seasons next week.
