This Week in Kangaroo Athletics

The spring semester is officially underway, and with it comes the spring sports season as both women's water polo and softball will be in action to open their years, while men's and women's basketball will be home on Friday and Saturday.

The 'Roo basketball teams start things off on Friday when they host Colorado College in the final contests of January, with the women taking the court at 6:00 p.m. while the men follow at 8:00 p.m.

Both teams will be back in Hughey Gym again on Saturday for another Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader, this time taking on St. Thomas with the women playing at 4:00 p.m., and the men tipping off at 6:00 p.m.

The 'Roo women's water polo team is headed to Virginia this weekend at the VMI Invite, opening things up on Saturday against St. Francis (Pa.) at 9:20 a.m. before taking on Mount St. Mary's at 2:00 p.m. The 'Roos will then be back in the pool on Sunday, squaring off against McKendree at 9:00 a.m. before wrapping things up against the host school VMI at noon. All times listed for this weekend's women's water polo tournament are Eastern.

Finally, the Austin College softball team will take to the diamond for the first time this year in Abilene, as they travel to take on Hardin-Simmons University for a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
