It's another eventful week for Austin College athletics, with the softball team headed west to California, the men's and women's basketball teams headed to Colorado and Houston, the men's and women's tennis teams opening up their 2025 campaigns on the road in Georgetown, and the 'Roo baseball team kicking off their season at home.
It's another eventful week for Austin College athletics, with the softball team headed west to California, the men's and women's basketball teams headed to Colorado and Houston, the men's and women's tennis teams opening up their 2025 campaigns on the road in Georgetown, and the 'Roo baseball team kicking off their season at home.
The 'Roo softball team is headed to Los Angeles for a trio of doubleheaders, beginning with two games against Chapman on Thursday beginning at 3:00 p.m., and then taking on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday starting at 2:00 p.m. The team wraps up its trip against Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday, with that twinbill scheduled to start at noon. All times listed are Pacific.
The men's and women's basketball teams will be heading to Colorado Springs for a rematch against Colorado College on Friday, with the women set to take the court at 5:30 p.m. MST, and the men following at 7:30 p.m. The 'Roos will then travel to Houston, where they'll take on St. Thomas (Tex.) on Sunday with the women tipping off at noon while the men follow at 2:00 p.m.
The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams are headed to Georgetown, where the women will take on Trinity at 1:30 p.m. and Concordia (Tex.) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the men will compete against Concordia at 5:00 p.m. on that day as well. The 'Roos wrap up their road trip on Saturday, taking on the host school Southwestern University with both the men and women in action at 10:00 a.m.
Finally, the 'Roo baseball team opens its season at home this weekend, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, followed by a doubleheader against the Cru starting at noon on Saturday. The Austin College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will also be collecting spare change at all three baseball games as part of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's Change for the Better initiative, with proceeds collected by the 'Roo SAAC to be donated to Reba's Ranch House in Denison.
