SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's basketball player Jackson Rennie.
Rennie, a senior guard from Colleyville, reached an historic milestone recently when he surpassed 1,000 career points in a road game at St. Thomas, and followed that up with some red-hot shooting in a pair of conference games last weekend against Concordia and McMurry. In those two games, Rennie knocked down 14-of-26 threes while averaging 26.0 points-per-game, including going for 28 points and knocking down eight triples in a victory over the Warhawks. Earlier this season, Rennie established career-highs with nine threes and 36 points in a non-conference point against Howard Payne, and ranks in the top five in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference at 41.4% from long distance. He's also seventh in the league with 16.5 points-per-game.
Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
