Sadler Named Modern Woodmen Athlete of the Week
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo volleyball player Rachel Sadler.
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo volleyball player Rachel Sadler.
Sadler, a junior from Princeton, had an oustanding opening weekend to help the 'Roo volleyball team start the season with a 4-0 record at the Austin College Classic. Sadler averaged 3.92 kills-per-set in four matches against Arcadia University, New England College, Rhodes College, and Millsaps College, and tied for the second most kills in a single match in Austin College history with 29 in a five-set victory over the Majors. Sadler currently ranks second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in kills-per-set, while also boasting a .318 hitting percentage and 2.23 digs-per-set. She had a personal weekend-high of 13 digs in the team's 3-0 victory over Rhodes, and also had five service aces over the course of the weekend.
