Graham Named SCAC Woman of the Year Finalist
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College women’s volleyball standout Samantha Graham has been selected as a finalist for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Woman of the Year award. The prestigious honor recognizes senior student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletic excellence, service, and leadership.
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College women's volleyball standout Samantha Graham has been selected as a finalist for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Woman of the Year award. The prestigious honor recognizes senior student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletic excellence, service, and leadership.
A dynamic presence on the court for the 'Roos, Graham earned SCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades in 2025 and was previously recognized as the SCAC Offensive Player of the Week during the 2023 season. Her exceptional impact within the athletic department was celebrated at the 2026 annual awards banquet, where she was doubly honored with the Sig Lawson Award for leadership and the Bo Miller Award, which recognizes an outstanding athlete who excels in academics.
In the classroom, Graham's resume is flawless. A kinesiology major and biology minor, she maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her collegiate career. She was a fixture on the SCAC All-Academic Honor Roll all four years (2023-2026) and was a four-time selection to the Austin College Dean's List (2023-2026). Her scholastic dedication also earned her College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors in 2024 and culminated in her 2026 induction into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
Off the court, Graham demonstrated a deep commitment to community service, mentorship, and her future career field. She served as a 'RooBuddies mentor at Sory Elementary for three years (2024-2026), working directly with local youth. Giving back to the sport she plays, Graham also spent three years shaping the next generation of athletes as a coach for the Club Texoma Volleyball Club (2023-2025).
Additionally, Graham built hands-on clinical and healthcare experience by working with Austin College Athletic Training (CSOC) from 2023 to 2024 and volunteering her time at Kimble Hospital in 2024.
The SCAC Woman of the Year will be announced by the conference office later this summer.
