Squalls Named SCAC Hitter of the Week
SUWANEE, Ga. - Austin College baseball player Desmond Squalls has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Hitter of the Week for his outstanding performance against Howard Payne and Southwestern, the league office has announced. This is the second time this season Squalls has earned this honor.

Squalls, a sophomore outfielder from McKinney, had a huge week at the dish for Austin College as the 'Roos went 3-1 against Howard Payne and Southwestern, batting .533 with a .650 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. Squalls had two hits in every game, finishing the week with three doubles, two triples, six runs scored, and six batted in. He also had a stolen base and was 6-of-12 as the 'Roos won their road series at Southwestern, wrapping up the weekend with a four-RBI performance in a 12-8 win to clinch the series. The series win against Southwestern is the first for Austin College since 2018.
