Former Austin College football player Larry Fedora leads his North Carolina football team against South Carolina in the opening game of the 2013 college football season tonight. Fedora is in his second season as the head coach of the Tar Heels.
In his first season at the helm of UNC, Fedora led the Tar Heels to an 8-4 record, including a 5-3 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference for his fifth straight winning season including four in a row at Southern Mississippi. Fedora will be looking to make it six straight winning seasons beginning tonight when his Tar Heels take on No. 6-ranked South Carolina tonight at 5:00 p.m. on ESPN.
Fedora is a 1984 graduate of Austin College, where he played wide receiver on the Kangaroo football team, and was a member of the 1981 NAIA National Championship team.
