SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College football player Barrett Hudson has been named to the D3Football.com National Team of the Week after an outstanding performance against Lyon last weekend, the organization has announced.
Hudson, a freshman runningback from Katy, was unstoppable on the ground as the 'Roos defeated Lyon 35-17 in a conference road matchup. Hudson only carried the ball 11 times, but gained 240 yards for an average of nearly 22 yards-per-carry, and found paydirt three times. Hudson had touchdown runs of 75, 71, and 71 yards, including scoring in the final quarter to help seal the victory for the 'Roos. His 240 yards are believed to be the 13th most in a single game in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference history. Barrett's 240 rushing yards are second in program history, trailing only Austin College Athletics Hall of Honor, as well as former New York Giant and Baltimore Raven, Aaron Kernek's 256 in a game during the 2000 season.
Hudson is the second 'Roo to earned Team of the Week honors from D3Football.com this season, joining kicker Caleb Balderas.
