SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College football player Brady Dygert has been named to the D3Football.com All-Region Third Team following an outstanding senior campaign, the organization has announced.
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College football player Brady Dygert has been named to the D3Football.com All-Region Third Team following an outstanding senior campaign, the organization has announced.
Dygert, a linebacker from Magnolia, led the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and finished third in the nation in the regular season with 122 tackles, and also led the conference with 66 solo stops. Dygert, who was a first team All-SCAC selection as well as being named the SCAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, and he added 4.0 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions and two pass breakups to his defensive resume.
Dygert was the league's Defensive Player-of-the-Week in Austin College's regular season finale when he recorded 18 tackles, forced a fumble, and had a pass breakup in a 31-21 homecoming victory over Lyon College. He is the 'Roos' first Defensive POTY honoree in the program's 12 years playing under the SCAC umbrella. He's the first 'Roo football player to earn D3Football.com All-Region honors since punter Tyler James was named second team All-Region in 2022.
