Austin College (2-8, 0-2 SCAC) rallied late to knot the score at 81-81 on a trey by Kidus Getenet with 1:33 left to play. However, the Crusaders (6-5, 2-0 SCAC) held the 'Roos scoreless the rest of the way, sealing the conference win at the free-throw line. Thomas Fleming led the University of Dallas with 22 points, shooting 7-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. Johny Olmsted added 19 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting performance, while Chandler Holmes chipped in 15 points, five assists, and three steals.
Getenet paced Austin College with a game-high 22 points, connecting on 5-of-8 attempts from 3-point range. Peyton Gonzales added 16 points, while Jamien June and Tasshir Pina-Warren finished with 14 points apiece.
Dallas took a 43-39 lead into halftime, but the second half featured multiple momentum swings. Austin College briefly seized a 53-51 lead on a layup by Getenet at the 13:38 mark. Dallas responded less than a minute later when Olmsted hit a 3-pointer at 12:42 to reclaim a 54-53 advantage. The Crusaders threatened to pull away midway through the half when a Fleming three-pointer extended their lead to 63-57 with 9:16 remaining. A free throw by Rory Coplin pushed the margin to nine points at 8:14, but the 'Roos fought back to set up the dramatic final minutes.
After Bryant's decisive triple broke the 81-81 tie, Olmsted and Fleming combined to hit four consecutive free throws in the final 22 seconds to secure the victory. Dallas shot 50.9% from the field, including 9-of-16 from three-point range. Austin College shot 46.2% from the floor and 52.9% from deep but was unable to overcome the Crusaders' late surge.
