DENVER, Colo. - Phillip Le buried a penalty kick in the 71st minute to break open a scoreless match and lift the Austin College men's soccer team to a 1-0 win on Sunday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 5-5-2 overall and 4-5-1 in SCAC play.
The first half was a defensive struggle between the two sides, with both teams combining for just three total shots, including two by the 'Roos. Austin College came out more aggressive offensively in the second half, out-shooting Johnson & Wales 6-3 after the break, but it wouldn't be until the 70:46 mark when Le stepped up to the mark and beat the keeper for what would turn out to be the game-winner.
Joseph Khalaf stopped the only shot he faced to earn the clean sheet as the 'Roos completed their season sweep of JWU with the win.
