It was a wild start to the game with three goals in the first six minutes of play, starting with Dallas Christian getting on the board when a shot by Kevin Jacinto trickled past Jayson Baldwin at the 3:19 mark to put the Crusaders on top. It didn't take long for Austin College to even things up, however, as Richard Perez tallied on a feed from Luis Garza-Rios at the 4:35 mark, and Garza-Rios got into the scoring column himself just over a minute later, notching his third goal of the young season to put Austin College on top 2-1 in the 6th minute of play.
That remained the score for the rest of the first half and deep into the second frame, as both teams had scoring opportunities but the defenses were up to the task until David Rivas scored for Dallas Christian at the 84:07 mark to level things at 2-2, and Austin College was unable to pull back ahead despite multiple opportunities in the final moments of the match. Both teams finished the game with 12 shots, while Austin College held a 6-to-1 edge in corner kicks. Cristiano Castillo made two saves for DCC, while Baldwin finished with three stops for the 'Roos.
Austin College is back in action at home on Saturday evening when they host the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at 7:00 p.m.
