Centenary got on the board first in the 20th minute of action, when Jacob Ramsey put one in the back of the net to make it a 1-0 game. Neither team was able to muster much offense the rest of the way, with both teams limited to five shot attempts in the opening half. Austin College outshot the Gents 10-7 after halftime, but Centenary made their efforts count, putting three goals on the scoreboard in the second half. The first came early, as the Gents drew a penalty less than two minutes into the second frame, and Gabriel Aragon put the penalty kick home to make it a 2-0 game.
The margin grew to 3-0 just over eight minutes later as Ramsey scored again, this time at the 54:02 mark, before Austin College broke through with a goal in the 65th minute off of the foot of Marco Guzman. Nael Errami provided the assist for what would prove to be the lone goal of the game for the 'Roos, and Centenary tacked on one more from Angel Montoya in the 80th minute to make it a 4-1 final. Patrick Bassett made two saves for Austin College and Casey Clemo had eight stops for the Gents.
Austin College is home on Friday as the 'Roos celebrate Homecoming, hosting Colorado College at 8:00 p.m. The 'Roos will be celebrating 50 years of Austin College men's soccer during Friday night's contest.
