'Roos Wrap Up Weekend Meet at Trinity
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's swim teams wrapped up the early part of their season with a three day trip to San Antonio, competing in the Tiger Invitational on the campus of Trinity University. The 'Roo women placed sixth overall at the meet with a point total of 134, while the men were ninth with a final score tally of 32 points.

The 'Roo women placed sixth overall at the meet with a point total of 134, while the men were ninth with a final score tally of 32 points.
The 'Roo women got the meet off to a solid start with a ninth place finish in the 200 freestyle relay, with the team of Lili Clepper, Sophia Smith, Rachel Delk, and Lola Barcus-Schafer coming in with a time of 1:45.62, and Smith added a 13th place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:21.13.
The women's team of Delk, Joslyn Dimitri, Smith, and Clepper added a ninth place finish in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:20.85. Delk, Dimitri, Clepper, and Barcus-Schafer later scored another ninth place finish in the 200 medley relay, touching with a time of 1:58.24, and on the men's side, the team of JonAustin Blaine, Will Thomas, David Stanford, and Tim Smith came in with a time of 1:45.33 for a 17th place finish.
Clepper added an individual finish of 15th in the 100 butterfly, coming in at 1:04.74, and Dimitri put together a strong effort in the 400 individual medley, touching the wall in a time of 4:58.58 to earn sixth place. Smith placed 16th in the same event on the men's side, finishing with a time of 4:32.78.
Barcus-Schafer placed 11th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:16.04, and on the men's side, Theo Rogers came in with a time of 58.84 in that event to place 14th. Back on the women's side, Smith placed 10th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:04.04, and she scored one spot higher in the 200 back, coming in with a time of 2:16.60 to finish ninth.
Colin Stewart competed in the 200 back for the men, finishing 13th with a time of 2:00.53, while Blaine placed 22nd in the race. Kamil Murugan gave the 'Roo men a 16th place finish in the 100 free, touching the wall with a time of 47.92, and Delk placed 11th in the women's 200 breaststroke, finishing in 2:48.10, while Rogers earned the men an 11th place finish as well, finishing with a time of 2:11.66.
Flyn Hughes had a strong finish for the men in the 200 butterfly, placing sixth with a time of 1:57.69, shaving nearly 10 seconds off of his seed time heading into the meet. Dimitri competed well in the women's 1650 free, placing 11th with a time of 19:33.96, and the women's quartet of Clepper, Smith, Delk, and Barcus-Schafer closed out the meet with a ninth place finish in the 400 free relay, coming in with a time of 3:52.12, an improvement of nearly 13 seconds from their seed time. The men's team of Murugan, Stewart, Smith, and Hughes wrapped things up with a 16th place finish in that event, finishing in 3:19.91.
