'Roo Swimming Closes Regular Season at Centenary
SHREVEPORT, La. — The Austin College men’s and women’s swimming teams secured multiple victories in relay and individual events Saturday during a double dual meet against Centenary College and the University of St. Thomas. The women were bested by Centenary 90-57 and UST 75-73, while the me claimed a 114-65 victory against the Celts and fell 128-52 against UST.

The women were bested by Centenary 90-57 and UST 75-73, while the me claimed a 114-65 victory against the Celts and fell 128-52 against UST.
The 'Roos women's team highlighted the day by sweeping the relay events. The quartet of Tatyana Arizmendi, Joslyn Dimitri, Lili Clepper, and Rachel Delk took first place in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:03.05. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Sophia Smith, Clepper, Delk, and Arizmendi touched the wall first in 1:51.18.
On the individual side, Arizmendi secured a gold medal in the 200-yard individual medley, clocking in at 2:27.55. Clepper added to the win column with a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:01.23.
Other notable performances for the women included Dimitri, who earned runner-up finishes in both the 500-yard freestyle (5:54.90) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:17.97). Smith placed second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.68 and third in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:18.62.
For the men's team, Matthew Leeworthy and JonAustin Blaine led the way with individual victories. Leeworthy won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.45, while Blaine took the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke, touching in 1:00.01. The men's 200-yard medley relay team of Hudson Seavers-Reale, Leeworthy, Flyn Hughes, and Kamil Murugan placed second with a time of 1:41.07.
Additional top finishes for the men included Owen Altermatt, who placed third in both the 100-yard freestyle (52.59) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:20.73). Seavers-Reale added a third-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:09.97, and Hughes finished third in the 50-yard freestyle at 23.60.
Having now wrapped up the regular season, the 'Roos will be looking ahead to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship meet next month.
