'Roos Blanked in Series Opener at Ozarks

The game remained a scoreless pitching duel until the bottom of the third inning. A fielding error and a hit batsman set the stage for Ozarks left fielder Isabella Hulsey, who laced a two-run single down the right-field line to break the tie and give the hosts a 2-0 advantage. Ozarks extended their lead in the fourth inning when Grace Price hit an RBI double to left field, bringing home Jorden Hodges. The Eagles capped the scoring in the fifth inning after Emma Reynolds singled, advanced on a groundout, and subsequently scored on a fielding error.
For the 'Roos, Jillian Kelly led the offensive effort, going 2-for-3 at the plate while also adding a stolen base. Lauren Trott and Reagan Brinkley accounted for the team's other two hits. Trott took the loss in the circle, tossing a complete six innings while allowing four runs on four hits and striking out two batters.
Ozarks starting pitcher Bailee Cowell threw a complete-game, four-hit shutout with six strikeouts to secure the win. Reynolds paced the Ozarks offense, finishing 2-for-3 with a double, a stolen base, and a run scored, while Hulsey finished the day with two RBIs.
