Johnson Steps Down as Softball Coach

SHERMAN, Texas – Austin College head softball coach Brandon Johnson has stepped down from that position to pursue other professional opportunities, athletics director Michelle Filander has announced.

Johnson served as the head coach of the 'Roo softball program for four seasons beginning in 2023, winning 42 games on the diamond during his tenure, including a program record 18 regular season victories during the 2024 campaign. That season, he guided the 'Roos to the program's first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament appearance since 2015. This past year, Austin College finished with an overall record of 12-21. 

Austin College will now begin a national search for the next head coach of the softball program.
