Matthews Named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week

SUWANEE, Ga. - Austin College women's basketball player Brooklyn Matthews has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her outstanding performance in a road win at the University of Dallas, the league office has announced.

Matthews, a senior forward from Conroe, had a big impact in her return to action after having logged just five minutes prior to Saturday's win over the Crusaders. In only her second game back this season, Matthews scored 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting in just 18 minutes of play in a conference win over Dallas. Matthews also grabbed five rebounds and added one steal in limited game time in the 61-42 blowout victory to help the 'Roos stay unbeaten in conference play so far this year.
