The Austin College women's soccer team earned its third straight victory with a 3-1 win over Schreiner on Friday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 5-8 overall and 4-3 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the win.
Schreiner grabbed an early 1-0 victory with a goal less than three minutes in, but Austin College took control after Mandi Sherwood equalized in the 38th minute to send the teams into halftime with the score 1-1. The 'Roos took the lead for good on a goal by Tyler Marquez in the 58th minute, and Cami Mavelian assisted on a goal by Abby Saizow to make it 3-1 at the 68 minute mark.
Franchesca Lozoya made two saves and Emily Brockette had one in goal as Austin College owned a 15-5 shot advantage. The 'Roos will be looking for their fourth straight win on Sunday when they take on Texas Lutheran, which they beat 1-0 last Sunday in Sherman.
