CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Austin College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision in a road match at the University of the Ozarks on Sunday, bringing the 'Roos to 6-5-3 overall and 3-4-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play this season.
The game was a defensive battle from the start, with the teams combining for 10 total shot attempts, with six of those efforts being put on target through the course of the game. Ozarks managed only three shot attempts, all of which were on frame, and finally broke through with what proved to be the game-winner in the 65th minute of action. Following a scoreless first half that saw the 'Roos outshoot the Eagles 5-1, Ozarks went on top on a goal by Mackenzie Kubien 20 minutes into the second period, and Austin College was unable to counter.
Kieran McFarland made a pair of saves for Austin College in the loss, while Ozarks keeper Jayla Lucas stopped all three shots she faced. Austin College wraps up the regular season at home on Halloween, as the 'Roos take on LeTourneau University on Senior Night at the Pierce Soccer Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
