'Roo Women Drop Fun in the Sun Meet to Lawrence

VENICE, Fla. - The Austin College women's swimming and diving team fell to Lawrence University 95-34 on Wednesday as the team participated in the Venice Fun in the Sun Classic during the team's winter training trip to Sarasota.

Sophie Garriga won the 50 backstroke during the meet, coming in with a time of 32.19, and added a second place finish in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 38.44. She also swam the 100 individual medley in a time of 1:13.57, good for second place. Garriga added a third place finish in the 50 butterfly with a time of 30.61, and teamed with Jennifer Liang, Mandi Sarembock, and Matea Stanisic to place third in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:15.59.

Katie Voelkel had a fourth place finish in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 40.14, and Stanisic, Brittany Maynard, Liang, and Voelkel added a third place finish in the 200 free relay.
