Austin College Tennis Set for SCAC Tournament

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams are headed to Waco for the 2025 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, this year hosted by Colorado College. Both the 'Roo men and women will be taking on Texas Lutheran in the opening round on Thursday.

The 'Roos will take the court on Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m., with both matches having been moved up due to expected inclement weather in Waco. The men, who enter the tournament as the No. 11-seed, were initially set to play at noon, and the No. 7-seeded women were scheduled to play at 5:00 p.m. 

Both teams will have a rematch against Texas Lutheran after hosting the Bulldogs in Sherman earlier this season. The men fell 7-0 in their match against the Bulldogs, but the 'Roo women came out on top with a 5-2 victory. Texas Lutheran's men's team heads into the tournament as the No. 6-seed and the Bulldog women are the No. 10-seed. The winner on the men's side advances to face No. 3-seed Colorado College on Friday at 10:00 a.m., while the women's winner will also face Colorado College, which enters the championships as the No. 2-seed, on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
