Altermatt Named MPSF East Newcomer of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College men's water polo player Owen Altermatt has been named the MPSF East Division Newcomer of the Week following an outstanding weekend in which the 'Roos went 3-1 to wrap up the regular season, the league office has announced.

Altermatt, a first-year attacker from Boerne, accumulated eight goals, two assists, five steals, and six drawn exclusions to help the 'Roos improve to 7-8 overall and 5-3 in conference play. He also did not allow a goal in the matchup with Wheaton's Spyros Rapsomanikis, one of the top scorers in the MPSF East Division. Altermatt also had a big game offensively against Wheaton, scoring four times in the 26-6 win. This is the first career MPSF award for Altermatt.
