Big Second Half Propels 'Roos to Win
JACKSON, Miss. - The Austin College women's soccer team erupted for four second half goals in a non-conference 4-1 road win at Millsaps College on Sunday, bringing the 'Roos to 3-1-1 overall on the year as they get ready to enter Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play next weekend.

JACKSON, Miss. - The Austin College women's soccer team erupted for four second half goals in a non-conference 4-1 road win at Millsaps College on Sunday, bringing the 'Roos to 3-1-1 overall on the year as they get ready to enter Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play next weekend.
After a scoreless first half that saw the 'Roos outshoot Millsaps 11-2, the 'Roos wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as Emeri Watson found Vyla Gammer for a goal to make it a 1-0 game in the 50th minute of action, and less than two minutes later, Myles McGaha tallied on an assist from Lily Davidson to put the score at 2-0. Millsaps cut the deficit in half in the 65th minute on a goal by Alex Bremond, but just 66 seconds later, Jetta Broquard found the back of the net to push it to a 3-1 Austin College lead.
Austin College closed things out with another goal in the 87th minute, this time with Gammer feeding Watson, to make it a 4-1 final. The 'Roos finished the match with a 26-9 edge in shot attempts, including 16-6 in shots on goal. Kieran McFarland and Amanda Zyla split time in goal for Austin College, with Zyla stopping one first half shot while McFarland turned away four attempts from Millsaps after halftime. Emily Lozano had 12 saves for the Majors.
