SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's water polo team is getting set to open up the CWPA Division III Tournament in Moline, Ill., this weekend, with the 'Roos getting into the pool as the No. 1-seed after finishing the regular season with a perfect 8-0 conference mark.
Austin College is 11-7 overall this year, and will be looking to bring back its first CWPA Tournament Championship since 2022. The 'Roos have reached the tournament final each of the past two years, coming up short against host school Augustana both times. Head coach Mark Lawrence and his team will be playing in the final game of the opening day of the tournament, as they await the winner of Friday afternoon's game between No. 8-seed Connecticut College and No. 9-seed Wheaton (Mass.). The 'Roos topped both teams in the regular season, defeating Connecticut Collge 10-5 and cruising past Wheaton 26-5, with both of those games being played on March 28. Austin College and the winner of that game will square off at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night.
Live video for all games in the tournament will be available for a fee, and live statistics will be provided free of charge on TheFosh.net. Follow along with all of the action on the official tournament website.
